Leakage Testing After Use

Most duct leakage testing is done on new buildings before they are occupied. However, sometimes leakage testing is done for a building that is already in use.

The HVAC system must be shut down during the leakage test. Therefore the test must be scheduled at a time that fits with the schedule for the building use. All parties concerned with or affected by the testing must be notified. Make sure that the test equipment will be available at the scheduled time.
